Positive: The hotel is nestled in the mountains of NH. It’s close to the action of N Conway but far enough away that it feels remote and tranquil. The grounds are pretty and the hotel was clean. The Omni was booked and this looked like the next best option.
Negative: It’s basically a golf club with hotel rooms. Lots of day guests there. We encountered little kids running all over the place unattended (even using the gym equipment) while their parents were drinking wine coolers in the sauna or out by the pool. There is a restaurant but you have to make a reservation even for breakfast. I don’t want to have to worry about getting to breakfast on time when I’m on vacation. We ate at the restaurant the last morning and even though my husband made a reservation in person with the hostess a few minutes before, they acted like it was a huge surprise and a bit of an inconvenience when we got there (it was at the tail end of breakfast.) By the time we sat down the staff was all hanging around the buffet which was near our table. Once we had gotten our food one of the chefs asked if we were good because he wanted to let the staff finish the buffet. They all proceeded to swarm in and load their plates and talk loudly to one another while doing so. It was just an odd (and expensive) experience overall.

Positive: Beautiful location. Cleanliness. Friendly staff always made us feel welcome.
Negative: Spa therapist not on site. Made appointment, never showed up. Had to call. She never wrote it in.
